It is true Sarah that both points treat skin diseases and that they constitute a very effective point combination for the skin. Li-11 is on the hand Yang-ming channel, a channel that is the richest in Qi and blood of all other channels. Being the Earth point on a Metal element meridian, it is also a tonification point via the 5-elements approach. Tonifying the LI meridian means an invigoration of the Qi and blood flow and elimination of Wind and Heat pathogens. These two pathogens exist in most skin diseases. Sp-10 is on the spleen meridian, a meridian much involved with blood due to the spleen physiological roles. Its indications mainly involve Heat/Fire pthogens irradication from the blood, cooling the blood, but also (albeit to a lesser extent) tonifying deficient blood. Li-11 being located on the hand Yang-ming, exerts an invigorating influence on the blood, directed distally, in the direction of this energetic segment. Sp-10, on the other hand, pushes up (proximally) in the direction of the spleen meridian. These two points therefore, accelerate and invigorate the blood flow in the whole body, completeing the energetic circle of these two Yin/Yang related meridians. The classics say that in order to eliminate Wind pathogen, you need to invigorate the blood. Hence the contribution of these two points in skin disorders. Hope this clarifies the issue.

O.K. Shmuel, I really appreciate your time. Now it is much clearer. Can you please tell me what other points are usually helpful in skin conditions, atopic dermatitis for instance?

There rae many points for skin diseases, Sarah, besides these two points. B-40 Weizhong is very good for Heat in the blood symptoms including atopic dermatitis. Sp-6 tonifies and invigorates the blood and is also widely used for such conditions. B-12, Du-14, Du-16 address the Wind character of Wind-rash (atopic dermatitis). St-36 is also frequently used due to its extremely efficiency Wei Qi strengthening properties and, even G-31 on the thigh, is symptomatic for rash with itching on one side of the body. There are many other points as well, but the space is limited...

Hello Dhurjati and welcome to this forum. Regardless of the diabetes the points usually selected for the metatarsal pain are the Bafeng points. These points are 8 points located on the dorsum of the foot, between the toes, 0.5 cun proximal to the margin of the web. These eight points include Xingjian LIV-2, Neiting ST-44 and Xiaxi GB-43. Sp-6 may aid in the treatment.

This is either because of lower back problem such as a dislocated disc or deficiency of liver blood. If this is the back problem, needle points on the back such as B-23/ 25 etc. plus points along the bladder meridian of the leg. If this is due to liver blood deficiency use points such as B-23/ B-17/ B-18/ Liv-8/ Sp-6 or the herbal formula of: Shao Yao Gan Cao Tang

I have been seeing a naturopath now for a few months. We have eliminated all possible food triggers, but still no improvement. My symptoms are almost strictly allergic reactions to the face sometimes the hands ( red, itchy, very swollen, skin, swollen eyes at times )
