Hello, my name is Myra I am 24 years old and I live in Phoenix Arizona U.S.A. I was searching the web for information in regards to acne and came accross your website. After reading the article about Miss E. I was astonished on how similar her symptoms are to mine and also glad that she was able to overcome that phase.
I suffer from pain on my lower back before menstruating, heavy discharge with offensive odor that seems not to go away and acne on the side of my cheeks and jaw line. I visited my doctor due to the fact that I had tried everything there is on the market to get rid of acne and nothing helped, now I am to the point where is affecting my daily life and find my self very aware of my acne and this is causing me to get very depressed. My Dr. prescribed me clindamicyn phosphate topical solution and pills (Erythrocin), but did not work. I have also had chemical peels done with no result. Now I have an appointment on 12/01/03 with laser aesthetics and hope it works. I am just desperate and do not know what else to do.)-: Where else could I go to get treated?
Thank You for taking time to read this.

Hello Myra. As you can see in my article, acne is usually treatable by Chinese medicine. Before you go any farther with invasive treatment modalities or heavy artillery such as hormonal treatment and/or various antibiotics, you may want to consider acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I strongly recommend, therefore, that you try to find an experienced Chinese m. practitioner and give this medical approach a chance. You have pointed out yourself that your acne may be linked to your gynecological problems. It usually is. Thus, laser or topical treatment of any sort will never be able to irradicate the problem from its root. Make sure that the practitioner you decide to go to will address your problem by acupuncture, herbs and diet. These three are essential for the battle against acne. Good luck.
