Hello, I'm am a mother of a 6 month old baby girl that was just diagnosed with urinary reflux..... She had a UTI a month ago, her pediatrician gave her amoxicillin for a week ( I hated the fact to give her an antibiotic with such a young age...) but we had to because she also had fever; Last week she had to do the exam to see what caused the UTI and for my misery she has a level two reflux going on... Her doctor recommended Bactrim for 6 MONTHS........ I always treated myself with Chinese herbs/acupuncture, or natural remedies and can NOT accept the fact that my own little baby will have to take antibiotic for that long...
Is there any thing you could suggest in terms of an alternative way to treat/prevent her kidneys to get damaged ?

Thanks Very Much,

Acupuncture is indeed quite effective to restore a proper flux between the kidney and bladder. It is possible to start treatment in this age only if you can find a practitioner with experience in treating such small babies, and especially one that has accumulated experience with this syndrome in particular.
Otherwise, you may need to postpone the treatment until she is 1-2 years old and give her prophylactic antibiotics until then.

Hi Dr. Halevi
At the moment a clientof mine is treating herself for breach baby using moxa on UB 67. I gave her the first treatment by heating bothpoints simultaneously and the basby started to make sdome movements after 5 minutes. Then I suggested to continue using moxa alternately one day on the left and ther next on the right point. I would like to konow if it is proper to use both points simultaneously during the whole treatment period? Thanks in anticipation and keep up the good work

Mike

Yes Mike it is possible to treat both toes at the same time, or one toe for each session. Both methods work the same.
