Dear Shmuel
Is there any spirit point to cure somatic problems (in this case open angle glaucoma) arising from suppressed sexual desires in 38 years old female.

You mean Dr. Parkash that a glaucoma has arisen as a result of suppressed sexual desire?
I wonder, how did you come to such a conclusion?
In any event, I would treat the glaucoma as a glaucoma - which is usually quite responsive to acupuncture, and then deal with the suppressed emotions. If you still wish to add a point to combine these two disorders in one treatment, I suppose that H-5 is suitable.

Dear Shmuel
i reached to conclusion because of patient's history and fluctuations in the pressure inspite of treatment administered by Modern medicine experts or by Acupuncture. After a careful evaluation I concluded this probable psychosomatic effects.
I wiil like to submit treatment feedback afer adding H-5.

This patient is 38 years old unmarried, suffering from open angle glaucoma since last one year.
Even with the best ophthalmologists advice her IOP(Intraocular pressure) was not under control .She came for Acupuncture treatment.

She is having a wood type constitution with spleen yin defficiency. There are signs of empty heat as reddish maxillary areas according to Chinese medicine glaucoma can be described in term of fluid retentions. Pathological fluids have a yin origin and carried downwards as swelling in the legs etc. But if it is accumulated in the upper parts of body it must have a yang origin ,means water flowing upwards due to influence of pathological fire and problem in this case is compounded due to spleen yin deficiency giving rise to dampness.
She is also feeling a sensation of flame to the medial side of the eye which according to the Western medicine is a sign of glaucoma but I feel it as a cry of dying nerve due to heat.
So a treatment plan was chosen

GB-20
UB-1
FOUR GATES -- LI4 AND LIV3
K-2
UB-20
UB-23
GB- 43 This point was chosen because needling this point was immediately brings down the flame sensations which was not possible with Liv 2.

she was well under control with this treatment when she again felt the raised IOP.

So I thought of needling a spirit point
however H-5 did not bring down the desired results.
So I advised some Meditation technique which is helping her.

Dr. Prakash,

Since you have diagnosed her as a Wood, did you try Guang Ming (GB 37?) It helps with eye disorders and qi stagnation among other things.

Did you try GB 13 or 20? GB 13, Ben Shen or "Root the Spirit," can help her be more grounded. GB 20, Feng Chi or "Wind Pond," clears wind (internal and external) and helps with eye disorders and many emotional/neurological problems.

For the dryness at the medial canthus you could try "Head above Tears" or "Foot above Tears" GB 15 and GB 41 respectively.

I hope these suggestions help.

Sincerely,

Eric Waltemate D.C.
