Have you studied a textbook to mention standard necessary qty (approx.)of acupuncture treatment sessions for acupuncture-effective conditions such as bi syndromes, spondilopathy, sciatica, depression, lumbar pain, knee joint pain.
This is contraversial among acupuncturists, and a clear guideline can help so much.

This is entirely individual. In times I need to perform 3 sessions in order to relieve someone from a chronic backache, for which some other person might need 20 sessions. That depends on age, general health, duration of the disease, response to acupuncture, frequency of treatments and other considerations.

How long does a surgery take? Some surgeries take only 3 hours, yet I have been in
the operating room where a routine surgery takes twice as long.

There are guidelines, but they are very very general. It depends on the patient's
condition.

Certain diseases and symptoms are very chronic and will take a long time to heal.
Some are acute and will go away with only a few treatments.

I have heard that it takes a month of treatment for every year that a patient has
had a problem. So, 5 years of headaches will be under control in about 5 months.

Yes, you both are completely right, but we may prepare a plan outlining treatment sessions according to the conditions (age, general healt, duration of disease, response to treatment, etc.) as a general rule.
