I would like to ask if the point CV-22 can be utilized in small children for asthma. If so, can it be retained or immediately withdrawn

Of course it can and the mere use of this point may sometimes eliminate the problem altogether . In small chidren who are apprehensive, or those that need to be held by their parents during the needling process, the needle is removed right after the insertion and some twirling as well. Otherwise, suspend the needle for as much time as you suspend all the other needles. It is important to note that the needle in this point must be delivered to the exact depth and manipulated in a very small amplitude, while its tip is directed distally and very horizontally. Children that are old enough to communicate, may describe the Qi as going proximally in most instances, sometimes reaching as far as the ears.
