Yang Qiao Mai 'opens the eyes' and Yin Qiao Mai 'closes the eyes....In case of insomnia due to yin xu would you then reduce UB 62 and tonify K 6, needle them both even method or....?
Thanks for your reply

The usual procedure is as follows:
Yin xu = tonify K-6 and B-1
Excess Yang = reduce B-62 and B-1

Thank you, Shmuel, for your answer... that is an interesting point combination and it totally makes sense. I can also see that because of the sensitivity of UB 1 this approach might not be as popular and well known as other tx protocols.

You are right, and if you are not comfortable with B-1 you may also use B-2 which is less effective in all respects except for frontal headaches of various types.
Still, in my experience, these point combinations are much less effective for insomnia or somnolence than the more often used H-7/ Sp-6 based formulas. You may use this latter comb. in most cases of insomnia + additional points such as Liv-3 for dredging the liver fire etc. and, nonetheless, combine the K-6 B-62 in the formula if you find the YQM YWM appropriate.
