Hello
I am suffering from a medical condition called hyperhidrosis which is actually a fault in the nervous system causing the palm of my hands, my feet and my arm-pits to sweat a lot more then they should.
this is a very uncomfortable condition which is not triggered by any I am aware of. it could happen while in bed, or waiting for a bus, anywhere anytime.

is treatment by acupuncture an option? could it help? are there any known cases that had been cured after treatment with acupuncture?

thank you
Alon (22 years old)

Hi Alon. Hyperhidrosis is certainly a condition treatable by acupuncture. Sometimes only an alleviation of the annoying symptoms is possible, at other times a complete cure may be achieved. It is hard to tell in advance who will get cured and who won't. The alternative (W.med) usually involves an operation of some nerve trunks which I heartily recommend that you skip. Many people who has undergone this procedure suffer various unpleasant symptoms, some of which are far worse than their initial hyperhidrosis...
Chinese medicine is applied in order to harmonize the nervous system and regulate its activity. We call it to balance the Yin and Yang, thereby balance the + and - aspects of the nervous system. Regulating the electrical activity of the nervous system usually diminishes excessive perspiration, etc. The treatments are usually carried out for this disorder on alternate days. It may usually take between 10-20 sessions.
Hope this answers your question.

Thank you for your help and answer

If I could be helped by acupuncture then I wish to try it.

It is probably advisble to be treated by some one who had had success in curing this condition, right?

Is there a way to find an acupuncturist with experiance in treating this problem in Israel?

Thank you very much,
Alon

I am very interested in trying this as a treatment. How would I locate an acupuncturist in Austin, Tx that has experience with hyperhidrosis? Thank you!

I don't know how you can locate an acupuncturist in Austin Marci, but if you do find an acupuncturist in Austin, simply ask him/her if they have experience treting this disorder. Most experienced acupuncturists may have experience with this rife disorder. If they don't, they can always consult this (or other) forums, or the literature, how to treat this.
If any of this forum's members can advise you about acupuncturists practicing in Austin, I suppose you'll get a reply here.
