Hi, could someone help me out with prostatitis, I have had problems urinating and weak urine stream , frequent urination, it's not so bad in the mornings but it gets worse at nighttime, I also have genital pain which gets worse with arousal, low back pain and various other symptoms .. I think I have an overall yin deficiency and Yang deficiency, with damp-phlegm .. I'm just wondering if someone could give me some advice to find out more about prostatitis and my other symptoms I have. Thanks

Hi Laurie,
In my opinion, your condition would be best treated with herbal medicine. Are you a TCM practitoner or did you get your information from the internet? and where are you based?

Best wishes,

Hi,no I'm not a practitioner, I have got my information of the internet I have been researching for a few years now , I have also been speaking to a practitioner over the internet and I showed him a picture of my tounge and he said it looks like I have spleen qi deficiency, kidney yin deficiency, and Yang deficiency, and slight liver qi stagnation, he thinks I need to support my spleen qi first then move on to fixing the others.. I would like to go to a practitioner but I don't have the funds at the moment so I am trying to do what I can with what I have.. I am based in england

Hi, contrary to Kevin, I recommend acupuncture over herbs for this condition, as the preferred treatment option. I would not, if I were you, count on any diagnosis (especially of the tongue) given over the internet. There is not a mere chance that such diagnosis would be correct. Trust me. I have close to 40 years experience in Ch. med. diagnoses. However, treatment by needles as the first choice and assistance by herbal treatment, may be an excellent solution, when applied by a capable practitioner. I have had reports from people using my book of: chopsticks acupuncture that they have succeeded controlling urinary and prostate problems using this self-treatment technique. I find that quite reasonable and within the realms of this technique. However, careful location of the acu-points and skillful manipulation of the chopsticks are prerequisites.

I completely agree with Shmuel that you should not try to self diagnose or trust an internet practitioner. So, as funds are an issue, I would hghly recommend Shmuels excellent Chopsticks Acupuncture as your best bet for self treatment. Perhaps Shmuel could suggest a suitable treatment plan?

The reason I mentioned herbs is because the head of my particular lineage of herbal medicine, Dr Feng Shi Lun, is a specialist in andrology/male reproductive disorders.
In England, there is a teaching clinic in Oxfordshire run by one of his top students, who is herself one of the leading teachers of herbal medicine in the UK. Consultations are free, but you have to pay for the herbs. So, should you ever find yourself able to fund professional treatment in future & be interested in herbs, I would be happy to refer you.

Best wishes,
