I have been treating a patient for 4 treatments now and have had good results for his hypertension (HTN). He initially presented with HTN, but it was very difficult to find an underlying cause. HIs main presentation was slight stress in his life. I have included ear points for HTN, and body points for liver yang rising. HIs stress level has decreased and he says he is much calmer. His blood pressure went from numbers of 190-205/110-95 down to levels of 144-170/90-80. I feel this is a good result with only 4 treatments. My question is how would you treat this patient. Do you have any experience points a new practitioner may not be thinking of?

It is indeed very good progress for merely 4 sessions Ted. Your question lacks vital information in order to determine which other points may be utilized in order to enhance the treatment. I usually use the following points for HTN:
St-9/ Li-11/ Sp-6 and Sp-10 (St-9 needs a specialized insertion technique)
If you have a specific diagnosis such as Liver Yang exuberance, you may add:
G-20/ Taiyang/ liv-3... etc.
Excessive Yin congestion, add:
Sp-6/ Sp-9/ B-22...etc.
and so on.

If you allow my advice, stop giving richness to multinational enterprises and buy generic drugs, they have exactly the same ingredient as brand names. Health and long life.
