Dear Dr Halevi,
I have constant oily, shiny complexion, sticky odorous sweat and
sticky secretion from the corners of eyes. As far as I know, these are
signs of phlegm-heat or phlegm-fire. But I haven't hot symptoms (at
least on the skin) - redness, sensation of heat, burning pain,
eruptions or similar features. Actually the colour of the skin is
normal, it is thin, delicate, sensitive to cold and the face looks
puffy, esp. the upper eyelids, nose and cheeks. Does that mean that
the cause is stagnated heat, which remains "locked" deep in the body,
pushing phlegm outwards to the surface (esp. if there are signs of
interior heat)? Or another type of phlegm is involved here?
Besides, my hair is obviously shiny and greasy, like the face, but in
the same time it has began to fall on the top of head and I have
chronic dandruff. Is there any relation between this symptoms or they
are quite separate?
Thank you. Roberto

Your condition sounds more like an excessive dampness pathogen lodged on the skin. it is difficult to further analyze it without running a proper physical examination and, also, your message lacks important details. If you run a search task through this forum, you will find some inputs concerning your condition. Try the words: oily skin, dampness, seborrhea etc. If you still have questions reply back on this message.
