My father, 65 years old.
20 years ago, when my father use Chinese Medicine (liquid), something run to his trachea. From them, every autumn and winter, he cough day and night. He couldn't stoping cough because of trachea phlegm hypersecretion.
Every doctors' diagnosis are Chronic Bronchitis, but therapy according to Chronic brochitis didn't achieve any results.
The only useful pill before was Atrophin. That is my father's own prescription as Atrophin's side-effect is reduce phlegm. This year even Atrophin also lost its effect.
Who can tell me how to cure my fathers disease. Thanks a lot.

This is called in Ch. med a latent pathogen lodged at the throat and becomes active when the proper climatic conditions encourage it. The initial problem was not the medicinal liquid that your father has drank, rather the fact that some of it remained in his upper respiratory tract. This small amount of liquid may have attracted a pathogen which responds to a cold humid weather, thus showing activity in the winter or automn. This pathogen should have been treated long ago by acupuncture or Chinese herbs. Acupuncture is excellent in the treatment of excessive phlegm at the throat, or latent bronchitis. In the meantime, there are herbal pills that can be used in order to gradually dissolve residues of phlegm, improve immunity - as a prophylactic before automn has fallen. Also diet is important in such a condition, and cold drinks or food as well as milk products must be avoided, as they help produce phlegm.
In short, take your dad to an experienced Ch. med practitioner and I am sure the problem will disappear.

My dad is 81 years old and suffering from Parkinson for the last 20 years. He is unable to take food thru the mouth and needs to be fed liquid milk thru the PEG tube which is insert into the stomach. Recently, he seems to have a lot of phelgm and it can be quite thick at times. The doctor says that it is part of Parkinson and nothing can be done about it. Does anyone knows of any medicine that can reduce the production of phelgm?

There is no doubt David that your father's condition is greatly aggravated by this peculiar diet of milk. Milk and milk products are known, today even within the conventional medical circles, to have the capacity of creating abundant phlegm. Thus, if you wish to help your dad, I recommend that you revise his diet thoroughly with the help of a reliable Ch. med. practitioner. In addition, acupuncture treatments may be able to further enhance his condition, despite his old age, at least symptomatically - which is a good thing by itself. There are acupuncture treatments designed especially for the elimination of excessive phlegm and enhancing the digestive mechanisms.
